Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Q:
I want a project finished before the Kentucky Derby (Saturday, May 4, 2013). Can you finish by then?

    A:
It takes approximately two weeks just to get the stone order in. The majority of stone masons do not keep an inventory due to the unlimited variety of stone that is available to customers these days. Please call us today so that we may help you design your project and order supplies immediately.

  2. Q:
      Is a deposit required?

    A:
Yes. The amount depends on the total estimate of the project.

  3. Q:
It is the middle of winter and I want to have someone repair my old dry laid stone wall. Can you help?

    A:
You bet! Winter is a perfect time to do projects that don't require mortar. Most stone masons spend all winter lamenting the mortar projects they have lined up but can't do because of temperature restrictions. Dry laid stonework can be done at any time of the year and some stone masons may offer a winter discount to get business going in the winter.

  4. Q:
My granddaddy spent his lifetime picking up rocks out of the field and now we have a mountain of them. Can we use those to build a formal stone wall?

    A:
No, because stone rots by erosion, becoming more porous over time and decreasing its durability. Please consult with us so that we may recommend the proper type of stone and design for your project.
